- It wasn't a busy week for boxing as Big Time Boxing only covered one fight last week. That fight was the main event of a Telemundo card and featured Sammy Valentin taking on Giovani Santillan. Both fighters entered the bout with undefeated records and on paper it looked like it would be a very close contest. However, once the action started it was clear that it would not be a close contest that would probably go the distance. The action was good but the fight ended in the second round with punches being traded in the center of the ring. Unfortunately for Valentin he was the one eating most of those punches. With Valentin badly hurt Santillan went to work, throwing wild but powerful punches that continuously snapped Valentin's head back. After absorbing plenty of punishment the referee finally stepped in and waved it off, giving Santillan the stoppage win.
