UniMas Quick Pick

Jose Ramirez vs. Issouf Kinda: Friday night's other card will also feature an undefeated prospect, although admittedly one with a much higher ceiling than Abraham Lopez who is appearing on Estrella TV.  That other card will air on UniMas and the main event will feature top prospect Jose Ramirez (18-0, 13 KO) taking on the relatively unknown Issouf Kinda (18-3, 7 KO).  That fight is scheduled to go 10 rounds in the junior welterweight division where Ramirez is still really looking to make a splash.  Ramirez hasn't fought any truly notable opponents and fans are still waiting for him to take that next step up in competition.  However, Kinda won't be that step up and Ramirez is only 24 years old so there isn't any rush.  Ramirez is an orthodox fighter with pretty good pop.  He works behind a nice jab and will often follow it up with a big right hand and along with it a strong left hook.  What makes Ramirez fun to watch, besides his skills and power, is the fact that he is an aggressive fighter.  Kinda is also an orthodox fighter but he lacks the power that Ramirez brings to the ring.  Kinda is somewhat of a wild puncher and his best punch is a right hand he throws with bad intentions.  One thing Kinda doesn't do much of is throw combinations.  While Ramirez really lets his hands go, Kinda is more of a one punch at a time fighter.  This fight should be one filled with power punches but Ramirez has sharper skills and more power than Kinda and that will be the difference.  Kinda will swing for the fences but the knockout punch will never come.  Instead Ramirez will control this fight on his way to a sixth round stoppage.
