PBC on FS1 Quick Picks

Lopez landing a stuff jab
Josesito Lopez vs. Saul Corral: Tonight, on a rare Sunday night card, Josesito Lopez (34-7, 19 KO) will headline against Saul Corral (23-8, 14 KO) on a PBC on Fox Sports 1 card.  The two are scheduled to go 10 rounds from the welterweight division and both are in need of a win.  Lopez is coming off a win over a sub par opponent but before that lost to Andre Berto in a fight he was performing very well in.  Lopez was dropped twice and stopped in that fight although many felt the stoppage to be too quick.  Corral is also coming off a win but that came against a 3-18 opponent and he has really only faced to notable opponents, Sadam Ali and Mike Alvarado and he badly lost both of those bouts.  Lopez will be looking to keep his name relevant in the welterweight division and an eighth career loss could be disastrous.  He fights out of the orthodox stance and looks to score with an up and down jab he will follow with a straight right hand.  Along with those weapons Lopez also has a decent left hook and even in losses he usually makes things tough for his opponent.  The problem for him though has usually been attrition because he tends to eat a lot of leather and gets worn down over the course of a fight.  Corral is also an orthodox fighter but he lacks the top level experience that Lopez has.  Corral is a come ahead type fighter but doesn't jab his way in, instead relying mostly on an overhand right.  He also throws a decent left hook but he isn't the busiest puncher, especially when his opponent is backing him up.  Look for Lopez to try and lead this dance in an effort to keep Corral on his back foot.  For his part Corral will probably look to pick his spots to unload his overhand right but if he wants to win this fight on the cards he needs to be busier than usual.  Lopez will look good in this fight and while he won't stop Corral he will beat him by the way of unanimous decision.

Luna celebrating a win
Alejandro Luna vs. Andrey Klimov: Tonight's co-feature will showcase the undefeated Alejandro Luna (21-0, 15 KO) as he takes on Andrey Klimov (19-3, 9 KO).  The two are scheduled to go 10 rounds from the lightweight division where the 25-year-old Luna is looking to make a name for himself.  While Luna is undefeated, Klimov is coming off back-to-back losses and all three of his career losses have come against undefeated fighters.  Luna has never faced any top opponents but Klimov has, taking on Terence Crawford, Jose Pedraza, and Liam Walsh.  Even though Luna will throw a jab and straight right hand, those punches don't usually factor into his wins.  He usually wins fights because of his aggressiveness along with a strong left hook and wild overhand right.  He doesn't have overwhelming power but he can certainly bang and he usually makes for fun fights.  Klimov is also an orthodox fighter who works behind a steady jab and at times seems to have a nervous energy int he ring.  Following the jab Klimov throws a nice straight right hand but usually doesn't do much else.  If history repeats itself tonight that will mean Klimov will lose to another undefeated fighter and while it won't be Luna's prettiest performance he will make history repeat itself by beating Klimov via majority decision.
