Jose Felix Jr. vs. Alan Herrera: The month of October has provided fight fans with plenty of action.  However, that action has been mostly second tier fights without any notable names in action.  This week the biggest name in action will be Jose Felix Jr. (34-1-1, 26 KO) who will be fighting Alan Herrera (33-8, 21 KO) in a fight scheduled to go 10 rounds in the lightweight division.  Seemingly out of nowhere the lightweight division has become one of the deepest in the sport and Felix is still trying to climb the ladder to the top of that division.   Felix fights out of the orthodox stance and while he has good power he can also tend to get wild at times.  The jab of Felix is a good one that can score points and do some damage but his left hook is his best punch.  That left hook is heavy and but at times he will throw it wide which leaves him open to be countered.  The right hand of Felix is also a good weapon although it doesn't have as much pop on it as his left hook.  Herrera is a fighter in desperate need of a win.  He has going 1-4 in his last five fights and he was stopped in two of those fights, including his most recent one.  Herrera, like Felix, fights out of the orthodox stance and Felix will be another step up fight for Herrera who has not done well in those type of fights in the past.  Herrera likes to work behind a nice jab that can score although it won't do much, if any, damage.  Along with that jab Herrera also has a good straight right hand and his left hook can score points even if it doesn't do much damage.  The problem for Herrera though is that he already has eight career losses at only 27 years old and he has been stopped in three of those fights.  Felix is a big puncher and even if Herrera has some success early that won't last as Felix breaks him down on his way to a seventh round stoppage win.
