- Big Time Boxing only covered one fight last week and that was the main event of an Estrella TV card headlined by Antonio Gutierrez and Jorge Melendez. It certainly wasn't the prettiest fight, but it was bloody as both men suffered cuts. The battle was one of boxer versus puncher as Gutierrez looked to outbox the slugging Melendez. In the second round Melendez dropped Gutierrez but he was unable to finish him and would pay the price. Once Gutierrez got his rhythm going he showed that his skills were superior to those of Melendez and he would go on to win the fight by the way of unanimous decision.
