PBC on Fox Sports 1 Quick Pick

Sammy Vasquez vs. Jose Lopez: The rise of welterweight prospect Sammy Vasquez (19-0, 13 KO) continues on Tuesday when he takes on Jose Lopez (25-3-1, 15 KO) on Fox Sports 1 on a PBC card.  The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds in the welterweight division and it could be Vasquez's last fight before really stepping up.  Vasquez is quickly becoming a fan favorite because of his aggressive style and while he hasn't faced any top names yet he has been brought along nicely, facing off against many quality veterans.  At 24 years old Lopez is five years younger than Vasquez but he has already faced a top fighter in Viktor Postol and a grizzled veteran in Humberto Soto.  Unfortunately for Lopez he lost both of those fights.  Vasquez is a southpaw with good power and while he can box he usually likes to slug it out which is why fans have welcomed him so quickly.  Vasquez who goes by the nickname "The Who Can Mexican" has a jab he uses as a distance finder, especially to set up his straight left hand.  The best punch Vasquez throws may be his right hook but he does carry power in both hands, something that will make him dangerous moving forward.  As for Lopez, there is no tape of him online, although many tapes can be found of other boxing Jose Lopez's.  When a fighter doesn't even have a highlight clip on youtube that usually isn't a good sign, but Lopez is really being brought in to play the role of opponent in this bout.  What is known about Lopez is that he is an orthodox fighter, which means there could be many head clashes in this fight since Vasquez is a southpaw.  Also, Lopez has solid power but he isn't an overwhelming puncher.  Although Lopez does have three career losses none of them have come by the way of knockout and number four won't either as Vasquez will win this fight via unanimous decision.
