Showtime Extreme Quick Picks

Redkach could use an impressive win
Ivan Redkach vs. Dejan Zlaticanin: While Showtime will be airing a card headlined by Deontay Wilder on Saturday night, the action will actually start on Showtime Extreme.  The channel will air the undercard of the Wilder-Molina fight and Ivan Redkach (18-0, 14 KO) will be in action.  Redkach will be taking on Dejan Zlaticanin (20-0, 13 KO) in a 12-round WBC lightweight eliminator.  Both fighters will be looking to move from prospect to contender but it is Redkach who U.S. fans are more familiar with.  Most of Zlaticanin's fights have come in his native Montenegro against sub par competition but he dos have a 2014 split decision win over Ricky Burns.  Redkach is a southpaw who has some good pop on his punches.  He has a pretty good jab and right hook, and the left hand of Redkach is a great weapon, especially to the body.  Zlaticanin will also enter the ring as a southpaw and he also has a strong left hand that he likes to bang to the body.  Zlaticanin likes to fight on the inside and he rarely uses a jab.  This should be a fairly even fight with the main difference being that Zlaticanin can sometimes get wild with his punches while Redkach stays more conventional.  It should be a close fight but one that Redkach wins by the way of majority decision.

Williams looks to be a factor at 154 lbs.
Julian Williams vs. Arman Ovsepyan: The other televised fight on Showtime Extreme will feature Julian Williams (19-0-1, 11 KO) a fighter who looks better and better with each fight.  Williams will be in the ring against Arman Ovsepyan (14-4, 11 KO) and they are scheduled to go 10 rounds in the junior middleweight division.  Williams is an orthodox fighter whose power is better than his knockout percentage would indicate.  The jab from Williams is a nice punch and he throws quick combinations.  The right hand from Williams is solid but his left hook is probably the better punch.  As for Ovsepyan he is also an orthodox fighter and he likes to walk opponents down.  He does a nice job of cutting off the ring but then isn't always very busy with his punches.  His jab is a solid punch and he has a very quick straight right hand.  This fight will probably come down to pedigree and that will favor Williams.  Ovsepyan has four losses on his resume and was knocked out by a 5-5-1 fighter not too long ago.  This fight should favor Williams and he will slowly break Ovsepyan down on his way to a 9th round stoppage.
