Fox Sports 1 Quick Picks

Danny O'Connor vs. Andrew Farmer: Tonight will be a very halloween themed fight card on Fox Sports 1.  It is being called "Monster Brawl" and will be headlined by Danny O'Connor (23-2, 7 KO) and Andrew Farmer (18-2, 7 KO) in a 10 round welterweight bout.  This fight doesn't exactly have excitement written all over it considering neither fighter is a big puncher.  Also Farmer may get outclassed considering his last five wins which followed a loss came against fighters with records of 8-31-2, 8-32-2, 9-33-2, 5-4-4, and 4-18-1.  While O'Connor is coming off of a loss it came against solid veteran Vivian Harris.  O'Connor is a good defensive southpaw with a busy jab that finds its target more often than not.  The southpaw also has a nice straight left hand although at times his throws it from improper distances.  Along with his straight punches O'Connor also has a nice quick right hook but like all of his punches it doesn't have much power behind it.  As for Farmer very little is known about him.  There are no tapes of his fights online and the only thing that can really be found is a workout clip.  As hardcore boxing fans already no when you can't even find a highlight reel of a guy on youtube there is probably a reason for that and the reason usually is that he can't fight very well.  Judging from his record its easy to see that he has no power and the orthodox Farmer has also been knocked out once in his two losses.  This fight may not have people standing and cheering but any boxing is better than no boxing.  O'Connor will definitely be the fighter with the higher skill level on this bout and that will enable him to win fairly easily by the way of unanimous decision.

Sharif Bogere vs. Fernando Garcia: The co-feature for the "Monster Brawl" card will showcase a young lightweight by the name of Sharif Bogere (25-1, 17 KO).  Bogere will be in the ring against Fernando Garcia (30-6-2, 18 KO) in a 10 round lightweight fight.  While the main event of this card is almost certain to go the distance the co-feature could very well end in a knockout.  That is because Garcia has been knocked out four times in his six losses and has been on the canvas more times than that.  As for Bogere his only loss came against the underrated Richard Abril in 2013 and he has won both of his fights with early stoppages following that loss.  Bogere is an orthodox fighter with fast hands and good pop on his punches.  Bogere has a nice stiff jab and a good left hook to go along with it.  The orthodox fighter also has an awkward right hand that he can land from many different angles.  Although Bogere has less fights on his resume he does have more experience against the better level of competition having been in the ring with fighters like Abril and Raymundo Beltran.  As for Garcia his only notable fight came against Miguel Beltran Jr. back in 2011 which was a fight he lost.  Much like Andrew Farmer in the main even there is basically no tape on Garcia online.  That is never a good sign and on top of that he has been knocked out four times in his six losses which means he has a glass jaw.  That glass jaw coupled with Bogere's power will not bode well for Garcia and Bogere will win this fight via 4th round knockout.
