Top 10 P4P Rankings

# 1   Floyd Mayweather (46-0, 26 KO)
On May 3rd Mayweather was in tough against Argentine slugger Marcos Maidana.  It was one of the toughest fights Mayweather has had in some years because of Maidana's aggressiveness and borderline dirty tactics.  Still Mayweather clearly won the fight and now the only question is who his opponent will be come September 13th.

# 2   Andre Ward (27-0, 14 KO)
There is no doubt that Ward is one of the best fighters on the planet but that doesn't mean much when you seem to never fight.  Ward has had promotional issues and lawsuits recently and injuries in the past and can never seem to stay in the ring.  Names Like Gennady Golovkin, Carl Froch, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. all loom as possible opponents but no one is sure when Ward will actually get back into the ring.

# 3   Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28 KO)
Martinez will be in action on June 7th against Miguel Cotto in a true mega fight.  A win over Cotto would cement Martinez's spot near the very top of the pound for pound rankings but a loss would most likely drop him from the top 5.  If Martinez is fully healed from past injuries and in good shape he could remind fans just how good he really is.

# 4   Guillermo Rigondeaux (13-0, 8 KO)
The next fight for Rigondeaux will take place in Macau, China on July 19th.  He will be in the ring against the veteran Sod Kokietgym and while HBO will cover a few of the fights on that card Rigondeaux's won't be one of them.  Instead one of the best technical fighters in the sport will be relegated to being shown via same-day tape delay on UniMas.

# 5   Wladimir Klitschko (62-3, 52 KO)
Klitschko followed up a boring sloppy performance against Alexander Povetkin with a strong showing against Alex Leapai.  Klitschko dropped Leapai three times before ultimately stopping him in the 5th round.  Klitschko isn't always exciting to watch but he is always effective and at the moment there doesn't seem to be any real threats to his heavyweight crown.

# 6   Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO)
While Pacquiao was able to exact his revenge against Timothy Bradley he wasn't exactly overwhelmingly good.  Pacquiao is still a top fighter but seems to get more vulnerable each time he steps into the ring.  The plan is for Pacquiao to come back in November in Macau, China possibly against Juan Manuel Marquez for a fifth time or maybe even former chief sparring partner Ruslan Provodnikov.

# 7   Timothy Bradley (31-1, 12 KO)
Bradley suffered his first loss as a pro in his rematch with Manny Pacquiao and it was partly because he changed from a defensive boxer to a fighter looking to land one power punch.  There is no word as of yet who Bradley will fight next or even when he will fight but if he goes back to his old ways he should get back on track in no time.

# 8   Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40 KO)
Marquez rebounded from a close loss to Timothy Bradley with an exciting unanimous decision win over Mike Alvarado.  Marquez looked very sharp in that fight and dropped Alvarado in the 8th round, however Marquez got dropped himself in the 9th round but recovered nicely to finish the fight looking strong.

# 9   Mikey Garcia (34-0, 28 KO)
Garcia was ranked #10 on the list last month and hasn't fought since that time.  The reason he has moved up a slot is due to the recent performance of the former #9 fighter Nonito Donaire.  Garcia hasn't fought since easily out boxing Juan Carlos Burgos in January and there is no word on when he will return to the ring but he looks like a fighter who will be a mainstay in the top 10 pound for pound rankings.

# 10  Nonito Donaire (33-2, 21 KO)
In his last fight Donaire was cut on the eyelid in the 1st round and the bleeding never stopped.  Donaire wasn't looking spectacular until he caught Simpiwe Vetyeka in the 4th round and dropped him.  Donaire was unable to continue due to that cut and the fight was stopped after the end of the 4th round, giving Donaire a unanimous decision.  If he wants to stay in the top 10 he needs to look better his next time out.
