Diaz weighing in
Carlos Diaz vs. Segio Puente: Saturday's only other fight will air on beIN Sports Espanol.  That fight will pit Carlos Diaz (23-0, 11 KO) up against Sergio Puente (25-4, 11 KO) in a fight scheduled to go 10 rounds from the junior welterweight division.  Diaz is just 22 years old and already has a win this year.  In 2016 Diaz went 3-0 which included beating his best opponent to date, Roberto Marroquin.  Puente is eight years his senior and he went 2-2 in 2016.  Puente has faced better opposition, most notably Fernando Montiel and Miguel Berchelt but he has lost to both of them.  Diaz is an orthodox fighter who works behind a solid jab.  Following that jab Diaz likes to throw his left hook and can also put some good work in with his right hand.  However, he tends to square up to his opponent which is never a good idea but does make for fun fights.  Puente is also an orthodox fighter but he has less power than Diaz.  What Puente does have is a sturdy left hook and hard right hand but he does lack a good jab.  Also, in his last 10 fights Puente has gone 6-4 but those six wins came against fighters with records of 1-3-1, 0-1, 23-29-2, 0-1, 1-6, and 13-2.  Peunte fights with a style that makes him seem like a power puncher but he doesn't hit very hard and usually doesn't jab his way in.  Because he doesn't jab his way in he will have to eat a lot of punches in order to get inside and that will be his downfall as Diaz gets the majority decision win.
