Telemundo Quick Pick

Pintor shows off after a win
Mauricio Pintor vs. Patricio Moreno: It will be an incredibly busy night of boxing on Friday and adding to the action will be Telemundo.  The main event of that Telemundo card will pit Mauricio Pintor (20-2-1, 13 KO) up against Patricio Moreno (19-2, 14 KO).  That bout is scheduled to go 10 rounds from the welterweight division where neither fighter has really made a splash in one of boxing's deepest divisions.  The jab from the orthodox Pintor is weak although it is accurate and from the outside he will also throw a lazy right hand.  From the outside Pintor doesn't do much damage but he can put in some good work from the pocket.  When he gets inside, Pintor has a thudding right hand and a left hook he loves to rip to the body.  Pintor's opponent Moreno works out of the southpaw stance and will be the more powerful puncher.  Moreno is a very lanky fighter and at times he doesn't seem to want to engage.  Moreno has a weak jab and most of his punches come in very wild.  From the outside he will throw mile wide right hooks and left hands and really only puts in decent work from the pocket.  In the pocket Moreno does have a good overhand left but Pintor is probably the better fighter from that distance.  Since neither fighter does much from the outside this fight should take place in a phone booth.  The shorter punches of Pintor should meet their target more often and that will translate to a split decision win in what could end up being a sloppy fight.
