PBC on FS1 Quick Pick

Derevyachenko gets his hand raised in victory
Sergiy Derevyachenko vs. Kemahl Russell: On Tuesday night the PBC will return to Fox Sports 1 with a main event that features two undefeated power punchers.  Both Sergiy Derevyachenko (9-0, 7 KO) and Kemahl Russell (10-0, 8 KO) will be putting their perfect records on the line in this middleweight fight scheduled to go 10 rounds.  Derevyachenko is an orthodox fighter with very good power in both hands.  Even the jab from Derevyachenko is stiff and that really is a punch he should use more often.  The real danger for his opponents comes when he gets inside and starts to unload left hooks and right hands, both of which have the power to end a fight.  While Derevyachenko has yet to take on any top opponents he has faced many quality veterans, most notable former IBF middleweight champion Sam Soliman.  As for Russell, his resume is much less impressive.  In his 10 career fights four of his opponents had losing records and he has never faced any opponent worth mentioning.  Also, the majority of his fights came in Jamaica, not a country known for a strong boxing culture.  Russell is also an orthodox fighter with good power and he works behind along jab.  However, Russell can get lazy with his jab and left hook so Derecyachenko should find plenty of opportunities to land his heavy right hand.  Russell's best weapon is an accurate left hook he will stick to the body and at times he also puts in solid work with the right hand.  He doesn't move very well though and defensively usually just stands in front of his opponent behind a high guard.  While both fighters have perfect records and those records indicate both are heavy hitters, it is Derevyachenko who brings the better boxing pedigree to the ring and he is going to win this fight with a fifth round stoppage.
