ShoBox: The New Generation Quick Pick

Baranchyk looks to remain undefeated
Ivan Baranchyk vs. Abel Ramos: On Friday night a pair of young fighters with only one loss between them will meet in a ShoBox: The New Generation main event.  Those fighters are the undefeated Ivan Baranchyk (13-0, 10 KO) and the one-loss Abel Ramos (17-1-2, 12 KO) and they are scheduled to go 10 rounds from the junior welterweight division.  Baranchyk is a 24-year-old orthodox fighter with plenty of power.  While he has a busy jab it isn't a punch he puts much behind, instead using it as a measuring stick for his power punches.  However, he does do a nice job of changing things up and will sometimes use that jab as a real weapon.  Along with the jab Baranchyk has show a big left hook and a mean overhand right that he looks to end fights with.  Probably the best thing Baranchyk does is vary his attack.  At time he will get wild and just look for the knockout but at other times he will put less behind his punches while he looks to score points.  Ramos is also an orthodox fighter and while he does have some pop on his punches he will be the less powerful puncher come Friday night.  Ramos has a measuring stick jab that he uses to set up a sharp left hook.  However, Ramos doesn't like an aggressive fighter in his face so he could have a difficult time with Baranchyk.  This could be a pretty close fight at the start but eventually Baranchyk will start to land more of his power punches and he will stop Ramos in the seventh round.
