PBC on FS1 Quick Pick

Miguel Flores vs. Dat Nguyen: On Tuesday night the PBC will return to Fox Sports 1 with a card headlined by a bout between Miguel Flores (21-0, 9 KO) and Dat Nguyen (19-3, 6 KO).  Their fight is scheduled to go 10 rounds from the junior lightweight division as Flores continues to work his way toward a title shot.  Flores is a 24-year-old orthodox fighter with good boxing skills but very little power.  For such a young fighter, Flores has a good idea of what he wants to do in the ring and he is skilled at doing it.  He works behind a busy and accurate jab and will also bring an accurate straight right hand behind it.  Flores also carries a good looking left hook and he usually doesn't take a tremendous amount of punishment.  As for Nguyen, he is 10 years older than Flores and has even less power.  Nguyen is also an orthodox fighter and while he has been fighting professionally since 2004, which is five years longer than Flores, he has been the victim of inactivity.  In 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2015 Nguyen didn't fight at all and in his last four fights he is 2-2 but those four fights stretch back to 2011.  His two best opponents were Luis Orlando Del Valle and Jayson Velez and he lost to both of them while they were undefeated prospects, much like Flores is.  Usually Nguyen will fight behind a high guard and will let his opponent finish a flurry before returning fire.  Offensively Nguyen doesn't do much and isn't a very busy fighter.  He will occasionally flash a decent jab and his left hook is solid despite not being used enough.  Nguyen will also let loose a right hand at times but that punch tends to be very wild.  This fight should be all about the younger, busier Flores.  Flores has more talent, has been fighting more regularly and is the crisper puncher and he will win this fight by the way of unanimous decision.
