Mauricio Herrera vs. Pablo Cesar Cano:
While most boxing fans are already looking ahead to Saturday's mega-fight that doesn't mean there aren't fight cards before that. On Friday Estrella TV will air a card headlined by a fight between veterans Mauricio Herrera (22-6, 7 KO) and Pablo Cesar Cano (29-5-1, 21 KO). Both fighters are coming off a loss and with multiple losses already on their resumes neither can afford another one. Herrera is an orthodox fighter who loves to work behind his jab. He is probably best know for losing to Danny Garcia in 2014, a fight most spectators thought he won fairly decisively. Along with his jab Herrera has a nice left hook, especially to the body where he puts in some of his best work. Defense is an important part of Herrera's style and he has one of the best chins in boxing, having never been down as a professional. Cano is also an orthodox fighter but he is much different from Herrera because he has power, something Herrera is void of. Cano is an aggressive fighter but he doesn't usually jab his way inside, instead he looks to land his power punches. Those punches come in the form of a strong left hook and a solid right hand. However, Cano usually comes in straight ahead and doesn't offer his opponent many varied looks. This should be a fairly even fight but Herrera is the more skilled of the two and those skills will pay off in the form of a close unanimous decision victory.
