Telemundo Quick Pick

Hernandez has won three fights in a row
Alejandro Hernandez vs. Emmanuel Dominguez: This Friday will be a very busy one in the world of boxing.  There will be four fight cards in total, including one on Telemundo.  The Telemundo card will be headlined by a bout between Alejandro Hernandez (31-11-2, 16 KO) and Emmanuel Dominguez (18-5-2, 12 KO).  Their fight is scheduled to go 10 rounds in the junior featherweight division and both men could use a win.  Even though Hernandez has won three fights in a row while scoring a knockout, the 30-year-old already has 11 career losses and most of those have come in his step up fights.  Those step up fights have included losses to Tomoki Kameda, Leo Santa Cruz, and Omar Narvaez.  As for Dominguez, at just 22 years old he has already compiled five losses and those losses are even worse when you realize he has never fought an opponent worth mentioning.  Hernandez is clearly the more accomplished fighter between the two and he fights out of the orthodox stance.  While Hernandez will flash his jab at times you can't help but get the feeling he would rather just throw left hooks all night instead.  That left hook from Hernandez is a good one and he also has a decent right hand but what he doesn't do well is move.  Hernandez isn't a totally stationary target but he certainly isn't hard to find, and the main trying to find him will be Dominguez.  Dominguez is eight years younger than Hernandez and also three inches taller, and he too fights out of the orthodox stance.  Unfortunately Dominguez doesn't always use his height well.  Often when he jabs he will lean in and get caught by a counter.  Dominguez will also throw a left hook and a wide right hand but far too often when he throws a punch he forgets to protect his chin.  While Hernandez has never been considered elite he will be the best opponent Dominguez has ever been in the ring with.  Dominguez may be younger and taller but he doesn't fight intelligently and because of that Hernandez will win this fight by the way of unanimous decision.
