Soto looks to rebound from a loss
Humberto Soto vs. Daniel Ruiz: While Friday will be a very busy one in the boxing world Saturday only has one televised card in play.  That card will air on beIN Sports Espanol with two Mexican fighters going head-to-head.  Those fighters are Humberto Soto (65-9-2, 35 KO) and Daniel Ruiz (34-9-2, 24 KO) and they are scheduled to go 10 rounds from the junior welterweight division.  Soto is a 36-year-old veteran who has been fighting professionally for nearly 20 years.  In fact he has actually been a pro for 10 years longer than Ruiz has.  During his long career Soto has fought many notable opponents and some of those recent opponents have been Antonio Orozco, John Molina, and Lucas Matthysse.  Meanwhile the best opponent Ruiz has faced was Dierry Jean who knocked him out in the fifth round.  Soto is an orthodox fighter who flashes a quality jab from the outside.  Along with that jab Soto has a good straight right hand and a solid left hook and he usually prefers to stay on the outside where he can counter punch.  Ruiz is also an orthodox fighter and as far as power goes he and Soto are fairly even.  Ruiz doesn't use his jab much and tends to wing left hooks and right hands from the outside.  Despite both Soto and Ruiz being Mexican they don't fight in the typical Mexican style which sees fighters trade brutal body punches in a phone booth.  Both Soto and Ruiz put in their best work from the outside but not only has Soto fought at a higher level, he also has the sharper skills both of which will help him get the unanimous decision win.
