Telemundo Quick Pick

Antonio Moran vs. Juan Pablo Sanchez: This week's action kicks off with a card on Telemundo.  That card will be headlined by Antonio Moran (19-1, 13 KO) and Juan Pablo Sanchez (30-12, 14 KO) and the action is scheduled to go 10 rounds in the lightweight division.  No disrespect to either fighter but many fans may simply chose to miss this bout.  Moran has never been tested before and the combined record of his previous opponents stands at 59-47-5, so he hasn't exactly been facing top talent.  As for Sanchez he isn't even 30 years old yet and already has 12 losses, eight of which have come via the knockout.  Moran is the type of fighter who relies on his power punches to win fights out of the orthodox stance.  When he does throw his jab it is usually just as a range finder.  Moran does have a pretty good straight right hand and a solid left hook but many of his punches come in wide and his hands aren't very fast.  Also, often when Moran is on the attack defense goes out the window and he leaves himself wide open for counter punches.  If fans tune in to this fight hoping to see some of the sweet science they will be disappointed.  Neither Moran or Sanchez is very slick.  Sanchez also fights out of the orthodox stance and he often fights backing up.  At times it seems that Sanchez only goes to work when he has to like when he is trapped in a corner or has his back against the ropes.  When he does let his hands go he usually attacks the body with left hooks and right hands.  Defensively though Sanchez is not good and his chin is very fragile.  While Moran isn't a true knockout artists he does have some pop and Sanchez will definitely feel his punches.  This won't be a pretty fight but it will be a fight that Moran wins by the way of unanimous decision.
