Jesus Soto Karass vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai: While there will be bigger names in action this weekend no fight promises the fireworks that the fight between Jesus Soto Karass (28-10-3, 18 KO) and Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-1, 23 KO) does.  Both prizefighters have been in plenty of action fights and this bout, scheduled to go 10 rounds in the junior middleweight division should be no different.  Soto Karass is an orthodox fighter who loves to work on the inside where he can make things rough.  His best punch may be his left hook but he also has a strong overhand right.  When he gets in tight Soto Karass can also find success with uppercuts.  On defense Soto Karass is not very good.  He doesn't use his feet very well and typically comes in straight ahead so he is always there to be hit.  Also, Soto Karass hasn't officially fought in the ring since 2014 so he could show some ring rust against Kamegai.  Kamegai is very similar to Soto Karass in that he is an orthodox fighter who does his best work from the pocket.  Kamegai, who hails from Japan has good power and an excellent chin, both of which should help him in this fight.  His best punch may be his left hook but he uses his overhand right more often and he throws everything looking for the knockout.  The two biggest names on Kamegai's resume are Robert Guerrero and Alfonso Gomez and Kamegai lost both of those fights.  Meanwhile, Soto Karass has been in the ring with the likes of Devon Alexander, Keith Thurman, and Marcos Maidana just to name a few.  Soto Karass has the experience advantage but he has also had more fights and tougher fights which could mean he is more shop worn than Kamegai.  This should be a fantastic fight where both fighters stand toe-to-toe and trade heavy leather all night.  However, the fight won't make it to the final round as Kamegai will stop Soto Karass in the eighth round.
