Lipinets looks to stay undefeated
Sergey Lipinets vs. Levan Ghvamichava: Tonight on Fox Sports 1 the PBC will air a card headlined by power punching junior welterweight Sergey Lipinets (8-0, 6 KO).  Lipinets is scheduled to go 10 rounds against Levan Ghvamichava (16-1-1, 12 KO).  While Lipinets is certainly a raw prospect, his aggressiveness and power make him dangerous.  Lipinets is an orthodox fighter who doesn't have the cleanest jab in the business but he only uses that punch to set up his power.  That power comes in the form of a heavy overhand right and a solid left hook.  One issue for Lipinets so far in his young career has been the ability, or lack thereof, to cut off the ring which means he often follows opponents around.  Lipinets will also sometimes keep his hands very low when he is on the outside and feeling confident, and that is a habit he needs to break as he steps up against better fighters.  Much like Lipinets, Ghvamichava hasn't fought anyone of note.  The lone loss on Ghvamichava's resume came against an 8-9-1 fighter via split decision which isn't a good sign.  Ghvamichava is also an orthodox fighter, although he can switch to southpaw at times, and he too has good power.  Ghvamichava works in a calm fashion and likes to stick his jab and follow it with a left hook downstairs.  Along with those punches he has also shown a nice right hand and when he does choose to throw combinations he usually does so accurately.  Neither of these fighters have ever been knocked down as a professional and both have good pop on their punches so this should be a fun fight.  Lipinets seems to be the higher class fighter and that class will come through in the later rounds and allow him to win this fight by the way of unanimous decision.
