PBC on FS1 Quick Pick

Alexis Santiago vs. Erik Ruiz: Tonight the PBC returns to Fox Sports 1 for another edition of Toe to Toe Tuesday.  The card will be headlined by a 10-round bout between Alexis Santiago (20-3-1, 8 KO) and Erik Ruiz (15-4, 6 KO) from the bantamweight division.  Both pugilists are in their mid 20s and neither can afford another loss.  Santiago's last loss came in 2012 and he had two losses that year including one to a 14-14-1 fighter.  His highest profile fight to date was a 2011 loss to unbeaten Randy Caballero and since his last loss he has gone 9-0 with four knockouts.  Ruiz also has a handful of losses but he has fought the higher level of competition including bouts with Jessie Magdaleno and Manuel Avila, two fights he lost.  Despite their losses however, neither fighter has ever been knocked out.  Santiago is an orthodox boxer with very quick hands.  He has a piston like jab and he uses that punch often.  "Beaver" as Santiago is known also has a nice overhand right and a surprising left hook, although he doesn't carry much power on any of those punches.  Ruiz is also an orthodox boxer but he lacks the same type of hand speed that Santiago has.  What Ruiz does have is the ability to counter punch fairly well and he will do so with a short left hook and quick overhand right.  Ruiz doesn't move as much as Santiago does and usually fights from the pocket despite not having the power to find much success there.  Ruiz's best chance to win this fight is to time Santiago and pick him apart with counter punches.  However, that won't be easy because Santiago moves better in the ring and has much fast hands.  That hand speed will be the big difference in this fight and will allow Santiago to get the unanimous decision victory.
