ShoBox: The New Generation Quick Pick

Prograis will try to stay perfect on Friday night
Regis Prograis vs. Abel Ramos: Friday nights other fight card will be on Showtime as the network brings fans another edition of ShoBox: The New Generation.  The main event of that prospect heavy card will be a good one by the name of Regis Prograis (15-0, 12 KO).  Prograis will be taking on a fellow unbeaten fighter in Abel Ramos (14-0-2, 9 KO) in a 10-round bout in the junior welterweight division.  Prograis is a southpaw who has a good jab and fast hands.  That hand speed is especially apparent when he throws his quick right hook that can do serious damage when it lands clean.  Along with the right hook Prograis has also shown a heavy straight left hand but even though he has been very impressive he hasn't been facing a very high level of opposition.  Across the ring will be Ramos who fights out of the orthodox stance and lacks the power that Prograis has.  While he does have a long jab he often throws it while backing up so it doesn't land as powerfully as it could.  Ramos does do a nice job of turning his left hook over quickly but none of his punches have a ton of power on them.  Prograis has been impressing people in his last few fights and that trend should continue on Friday night when he beats Ramos by the way of unanimous decision.
