beIN Sports Espanol Quick Pick

Miguel Berchelt vs. Rolando Giono: There are plenty of fights this weekend for fans to choose from and another fight card is set to air on beIN Sports Espanol on Saturday night.  That card will be headlined by Miguel Berchelt (27-1, 24 KO) and Rolando Giono (17-6, 11 KO).  The fight is scheduled to go 10 rounds and it will be contested in the junior lightweight division.  Berchelt is a powerful orthodox fighter with a nice jab.  Surprisingly for a power puncher Berchelt often fights off of his back foot and he doesn't have much of a right hand besides using it to throw uppercuts on the inside.  His best punch is definitely his left hook and he can seriously hurt opponents upstairs or to the body.  While Berchelt has never faced any elite fighters the 24-year-old has definitely seen better competition than Giono has.  Most of Giono's fights have come in his native Panama, not a country known for producing top talent.  Also, Giono, who fights out of the orthodox stance is coming off of the first knockout loss of his career about six months ago so who knows how well he will stand up to Berchelt's power.  The Panamanian doesn't use his jab all that often and he typically walks straight ahead until he gets inside and throws his wild left hook.  Another bad habit of Giono is that he tends to really square up to his opponent and his right hand, like his left hook comes in wildly.  Berchelt last fought three months ago so he should be sharp and that will allow him to stop Giono in the 5th round.
