Erislandy Lara vs. Jan Zaveck: The night before Thanksgiving will offer fight fans a chance to watch one of the slickest fighters in the sport in Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12 KO).  Lara will be taking on Jan Zaveck (35-3, 19 KO) in a 12-round bought for Lara's WBA "regular" junior middleweight title.  For many this fight is viewed as a big mismatch in part because Zaveck is 39 years old and has already lost to other top opponents such as Keith Thurman and Adrien Broner.  Since his razor thin loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in  2014 Lara has gone 2-0 and while he hasn't knocked out either opponent he did win damn near every round against both opponents.  Lara is a Cuban southpaw who follows the philosophy of hit and don't be hit.  Lara is a very accurate puncher and can jab opponents to death but he often gets criticized for not staying in the pocket often or long enough.  Along with his jab Lara also has a stiff straight left hand that he can drop opponents with.  Lara has a little Floyd Mayweather in him in that opponents don't throw much against him because whenever they do they eat a crisp counter punch from the Cuban.  Zaveck is a much different fighter than Lara especially because no one would use the word "slick" to describe him.  Zaveck is an orthodox fighter without a great jab and that often leaves him trying to get inside behind nothing by a high guard.  While Zaveck does have a strong straight right hand he isn't a very busy fighter and he will have a very tough time getting inside on Lara.  This will be Lara's third fight in a row that people expect him to easily handle and just like the two times before he won't disappoint.  Lara won't score a knockout but he will win the fight easily by the way of unanimous decision.
