Fox Sports 1 Quick Pick

Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. vs. Karim Guerfi: While neither Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. (25-2-2, 15 KO) or Karim Guerfi (22-3, 6 KO) is a very well known name Gonzalez nearly became a star in his last fight.  That fight came against the very talented Carl Frampton who entered the fight as a heavy favorite.  Gonzalez dropped Frampton twice in the opening round and it looked like he may score the massive upset but Frampton was able to right the ship and get the unanimous decision win.  Now Gonzalez will make his return to the ring this Tuesday on Fox Sports 1 when he takes on Guerfi in a 10-round bout in the bantamweight division.  Gonzalez is an orthodox fighter who has a nice jab he can land from a safe distance.  His best punch though is probably his overhand right and while he doesn't have elite power he is a strong puncher for his division.  The left hook from Gonzalez isn't a great weapon and while he doesn't seem to do anything great he does do everything pretty well.  Guerfi is also an orthodox fighter and while he has a stiff jab he appears to be more mechanical than Gonzalez is.  Guerfi also has a decent right hand but he isn't great defensively and often lets his opponents dictate the fight.  Also, a few fights ago Guerfi was knocked out from an overhand right which happens to be Gonzalez's best punch.  Fights like this could usually go either way, even if one opponent comes in as a slight favorite.  While the fight may be close it will be Gonzalez who gets the better of the action and wins this fight by the way of unanimous decision.
