Javier Fortuna vs. Carlos Velasquez: Very quietly the junior lightweight division has become a strong one.  It may not be the deepest division in the sport but it does have plenty of talented boxers and brawlers to make good fights within the division.  One of the top fighters in the division is Javier Fortuna (28-0-1, 20 KO).  This Tuesday Fortuna will be taking on Carlos Velasquez (19-1, 12 KO) in a 12-round bout for Fortuna's WBA regular junior lightweight title.  Fortuna is a southpaw who hails from the Dominican Republic.  He has very fast hands and plenty of power to compliment his speed.  The southpaw has a nice jab and a quick straight left hand, and when he actually chooses to use it his defense isn't bad either.  While the right hook of Fortuna is a nice weapon it is his left hand that does the most damage and it was with his left hand that he scored a brutal knockout of Miguel Zamudio which won him Big Time Boxing's 2013 Knockout of the Year.  In this fight Velasquez will have a pretty substantial height advantage over Fortuna but the level of opposition he has faced recently is sub par to say the least.  Velasquez is an orthodox fighter with solid pop on his punches and he loves to throw crooked punches.  The left hook of Velasquez is strong but comes in wide, as does his right hand.  Also, Velasquez doesn't make much use of his jab, and like Fortuna he loves to be aggressive.  This should be a very fun fight that is getting very little attention.  Both fighters have fast hands, with Fortuna's being fast, and both have good power.  The best part is that both pugilists don't mind mixing it up and aren't great defensively which could provide fans with a slugfest.  Not only is Fortuna much younger than Velasquez but he is also more talented and that talent will allow him to win this fight via 7th round stoppage.
