beIN Sports Espanol Quick Pick

Daniel Rosas vs. Jhon Gemino: Saturday night will not be a busy one for the boxing world.  Most fights are being scheduled for next week as the world prepares to another Floyd Mayweather fight, so this weekend is pretty sparse.  However, there is some action to be found over on beIN Sports Espanol on Saturday night.  The main event of that card will be a 10-round, bantamweight bout between Daniel Rosas (18-2-1, 11 KO) and Jhon Gemino (12-4-1, 5 KO).  Neither pugilist carries a big name in the sport and most boxing heads have probably never seen either of them fight.  But they are both in their early-to-mid twenties and neither will want to add another loss to his record which could make for a good scrap.  Rosas is an orthodox fighter who doesn't move very well in the ring and who doesn't have very fast hands.  What Rosas does have is a left hook he really commits to, especially when he is banging it to the body.  While Rosas also works in jabs and straight right hands both punches come in very slow and he often falls forward with the punch.  Because of his slow hands Rosas does not fight very well from the outside and he is at his best when he has his opponent pinned against the ropes.  While Rosas should be very comfortable fighting in his native Mexico, Gemino may not feel the same.  Gemino has mostly fought in the Philippines and his only fought outside of the country came in his last bout, which was in Mexico, and that was a fight that added another loss to his record.  Gemino is an ultra aggressive orthodox fighter whose hands will appear lighting fast compared to Rosas.  Gemino has a nice left hook and a wild right hand that can do some damage.  The problem for Gemino is that he never really jabs and instead will attack straight forward and eat any punches that come his way.  While Gemino doesn't have very good foot work he does move his head more than Rosas and can surprise opponents with quick counter punches.  Rosas gets top billing in this fight but he may not come out on tap when all is said and done.  Gemino is more aggressive and has faster hands and as long as he can take what Rosas has coming he should leave the ring with a split decision victory.
