Top 10 P4P Rankings

# 1   Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO)
Mayweather is scheduled to fight on September 12th, just a month and a half away.  However, he still hasn't named an opponent.  The likely opponent is Andre Berto and the fight is rumored to appear on CBS instead of Showtime PPV, which would be good considering it isn't a very intriguing fight.

# 2   Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KO)
Rigondeaux's last fight was in late 2014 and fans of the sweet science can't wait for his return to the ring.  Networks and many casual fans however, don't feel the same way.  Rigondeaux is one of the best pure boxers on the planet but no really seems to care, which is a shame.

# 3   Roman Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KO)
Fans of "Chocolatito" will only have to wait a few months to see him back in action.  Gonzalez is scheduled to defend his title in October on the undercard of the Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux PPV card.  No opponent is set but the two names being floated are Giovani Segura and McWilliams Arroyo, both quality opponents.

# 4   Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KO)
In late October Klitschko will be taking on one of the best trash talkers in all of boxing, Tyson Fury.  It is a fight that Fury has long wanted and is finally getting.  For his part he is saying he will knock Klitschko out, but first he will have to get passed Klitschko's telephone pole like jab.

# 5   Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KO)
Ward showed absolutely no ring rust when he stopped Paul Smith back in June and once again there are several high profile fights that Ward could find himself in.  The only problem is weight.  Golovkin may want a Ward fight but he wants it below super middleweight where Ward has been campaigning and it doesn't appear that Ward is ready just yet to move to light heavyweight to face Sergey Kovalev.

# 6   Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO)
Following his one-sided loss to Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao has stayed away from the spotlight.  His promoter Bob Arum however, has not.  Arum has been publicly criticizing Pacquiao and called him out for canceling a meeting with doctors about his shoulder injury.  Yet when Pacquiao does return to the ring he should find himself in another very big fight.

# 7   Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40 KO)
Marquez has not fought since beating Mike Alvarado in May of 2014.  There are two reasons he is still in the rankings, one being that a fighter is not removed from the rankings for being inactive when it is related to an injury.  The second being out of respect.  No word yet on when Marquez makes his return but it looks like it will be a farewell fight in Mexico.

# 8   Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO)
Fans who have been less than thrilled with Golovkin's recent opponents can finally relax.  Golovkin's next fight is set for October against the heavy hitting David Lemieux.  It is not only a fight between two devastating power punchers but it also has Fight of the Year written all over it.

# 9   Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KO)
After hurting Bradley badly in the final seconds of their June fight, Jessie Vargas would like a rematch, no one else would though.  Bradley seems to be in decline because of the wars he has been through but he still gets the job done and a third fight with Manny Pacquiao wouldn't be out of the question.  Also if there is a fighter in the sport today who deserves a shot at Floyd Mayweather, and the payday that comes with it, it is Bradley.

# 10  Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KO)
After long being a rumor a fight between Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will finally happen in November.  The fight isn't quite 100% official yet but it seems like just a matter of time (or Mayweather announcement) before it is.  That is another fall fight that could easily end up being named the Fight of the Year.

*Certainly Sergey Kovalev should be ranked in the Top 10 P4P but he is not.  The reason for this is the inclusion of Juan Manuel Marquez on the list.  Since Marquez has been out of action for more than a year he could have been removed, but since his time off has been due to an injury he remains on the list.  This leaves Kovalev off the list on which he last appeared in the 10th spot in May but was knocked off the next month when Andre Ward once again claimed his rightful place in the rankings.
