Telemundo Quick Pick

Daniel Lozano vs. Ricardo Rodriguez: On Friday night Telemundo will bring fans a battle of 25-year-old fighters who both have a couple of losses on their resumes and won't be looking to add anymore.  The two fighters facing off in the main event will be Daniel Lozano (13-2, 10 KO) and Ricardo Rodriguez (11-2, 4 KO) and they are scheduled to go 10 rounds in the junior bantamweight division.  Neither young fighter has faced any elite fighters as of yet but they do have a common foe in Jonathan Vidal, who Lozano stopped in the 4th round and who Rodriguez retired in the 7th round.  Lozano is an orthodox fighter with good power for his size.  While Lozano doesn't make much use of his jab he does love to counter with his quick left hook upstairs.  The right hand of Lozano is also a weapon he doesn't use enough but when he does let it go he can land it as a straight punch or overhand to some success.  When Lozano takes things to the pocket he does a nice job of banging to the body and can end a fight with his left hook downstairs.  Rodriguez is also an orthodox fighter but he doesn't have the power that Lozano does.  What Rodriguez does have is incredibly fast hands.  His best weapon may be his one-two combination because his jab and straight right hand are both blazing fast.  Rodriguez also has a nice left hook and he can land uppercuts well from the inside.  However, Rodriguez can leave himself open at times, especially to body punches and Lozano could make him pay with one single punch.  Both of these fighters are aggressive, which should make for a fun night for the fans in attendance.  The fight will be the power of Lozano against the speed of Rodriguez.  Many times speed can outbox power but in this case it wont.  Rodriguez tends to get a little reckless and doesn't always protect his body and that will result in an 8th round knockout win for Lozano.
