Fox Sports 2/Fox Deportes Quick Pick

Vyacheslav Shabranskyy vs. Paul Parker: With July 4th weekend only a few days away most people probably aren't thinking about boxing.  However, there are a few fight cards this week, the first being tonight and airing on Fox Sports 2 and Fox Deportes.  That card is headlined by a pair of undefeated cruiserweights, Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (13-0, 11 KO) and Paul Parker (7-0, 4 KO).  The two prizefighters are scheduled to go 10 rounds and one of them will leave the ring having suffered there first career loss.  Neither fighter has faced any top opponents yet but Shabranskyy does have a stoppage win over the always tough Garret Wilson.  This fight also marks Shabranskyy's first fight as a cruiserweight after previously campaigning as a light heavyweight.  Shabranskyy is an orthodox fighter with very good power.  Shabranskyy likes to stay busy and he will flash a long jab that he likes to double up.  That punch allows Shabranskyy to follow up with his power punches, like his left hook.  Shabranskyy is a fun fighter to watch because he likes to put combinations together and many of them end with his powerful straight right hand.  However, as good as he looks on offense he does have some flaws, like lunging in with his punches and leaving his chin exposed.  As for Parker, there is no tape of him online, not even a highlight.  That usually is bad news for a fighter because it means he has been fighting at a very low level and is probably being brought in to lose.  Parker is an orthodox fighter and he does have some pop on his punches but his power is not at the same level as Shabranskyy's.  Also, if you look at Parker's opponents they are all very inexperienced.  If you add up the records of all of his opponents it only adds up to 19-10-1.  Shabranskyy has stopped his last four opponents before the final bell and he should be able to do the same tonight, winning by the way of an 8th round knockout.
