CBS Sports Quick Pick

Lateef Kayode vs. Nick Kisner: The main event on this Saturday's CBS Sports card features an undefeated heavyweight who is lucky to still have his zero on his record.  Lateef Kayode (20-0, 16 KO) was stopped by Luis Ortiz in the 1st round of their 2014 fight but the result was later changed to a no contest after Ortiz failed a drug test.  This time around Kayode will be taking on the unknown Nick Kisner (14-1-1, 5 KO) in a 10-round cruiserweight bout, a new division for Kisner but not Kayode who fought as a cruiserweight as recently as 2012.  Kayode is an orthodox fighter with very long arms that allow him to have a nice jab.  Kayode also is a very wild fighter and his lack of discipline will sometimes get him in trouble.  Despite still being a bit raw Kayode does show good power, especially with his right hand.  Kayode has a very stiff straight right hand and also a heavy overhand right.  While he doesn't throw his left hook much when it lands it can be a dangerous punch.  As for Kisner who is a Maryland based fighter and that is where most of his fights have taken place, not exactly a boxing hotbed.  Also, there is no tape of Kisner online which is never a good sign.  All that is really known about Kisner is that he is an orthodox fighter without any power who has never faced a top quality opponent.  While Kayode may still be a long way away from being a true contender as a cruiserweight or heavyweight he is plenty good enough to handle Kisner and beat him by the way of 8th round stoppage in a fight that won't amount to anything more than a showcase for Kayode.
