ShoBox: The New Generation Quick Pick

Galarza will attempt to remain unbeaten as a pro
Frank Galarza vs. Sheldon Moore: This Friday on Showtime will be a new edition of the prospect heavy program ShoBox: The New Generation.  The card will be headlined by the undefeated Frank Galarza (16-0-2, 10 KO).  Galarza will be challenged by the Belgium-based Sheldon Moore (13-2-1, 9 KO) in a junior middleweight bout scheduled to go 10 rounds.  Fans should be familiar with Galarza who appeared on the program early in 2014 when he scored a devastating one-punch knockout of then undefeated John Thompson.  Galarza is an orthodox fighter with a nice jab and straight right hand, a combination he throws often.  The unbeaten fighter will often fight with his hands very low but his quick reflexes allow him to avoid a lot of damage.  The right hand of Galarza is heavy but his left hook can be a killer and is the punch to avoid.  As for Moore, he has only a handful of fights outside of Belgium, three of which took place in Florida.  Also, being that Belgium isn't exactly a hotbed for boxing, Moore hasn't faced many quality opponents.  Moore is an orthodox boxer who uses a good jab and straight right hand to control distance.  However, he tends to get overwhelmed on the inside and isn't very efficient when the fight is in a phone booth.  When Moore throws crooked punches his right hand is undisciplined but his left hook is very good and he carries it to the body well.  As it stands now Galarza is viewed as a quality prospect.  If he wants to take the next steps to top prospect and then contender he first needs to get passed Moore.  While it isn't clear just how good Galarza is yet, he will be good enough to beat Moore in Friday night by the way of unanimous decision.
