Fox Sports 1 Quick Pick

Pablo Cesar Cano vs. Juan Carlos Abreu: There will be plenty of interesting fights on the Fox Sports 1 card this week but the main event might be the most fun.  Pablo Cesar Cano (28-4-1, 21 KO) will be facing off against Juan Carlos Abreu (18-1-1, 17 KO) in a 10 round bout in the welterweight division.  This fight should tell us a bit about where both men are in their careers.  While Cano has four losses three came against top fighters Shane Mosley, Paulie Malignaggi, and Erik Morales while the best fighter Abreu has seen was Humberto Soto who gave Abreu his lone loss.  Cano should be in great shape considering he just fought on February 7th and scored the 1st round knockout.  The orthodox Cano has a stiff jab that he uses often and he does a nice job of digging his right hand to the body.  Cano also likes to throw a ton of awkward looking uppercuts that can do damage and he has a left hook that looks good to the body but tends to get wild when he brings it upstairs.  Like Cano, Abreu is an orthodox fighter but he doesn't posses the stiff jab that his opponent does.  Abreu is a very patient fighter who does not throw many punches, instead relying solely on his power.  That power comes with a quick left hook but it really shines when he lets his heavy right hand go.  That power has the ability to stop Cano but Cano represents a step-up for Abreu who didn't fair very well the last time he took on a higher quality opponent.  This should be an entertaining fight but it will be one that Cano wins by the way of unanimous decision.
