Ramirez could be the next Mexican star
Gilberto Ramirez vs. Fulgencio Zuniga: Tonight on HBO Latina fans could be witnessing the birth of a new Mexican star named Gilberto Ramirez (29-0, 23 KO).  Ramirez has been fed solid fighters but he has yet to face any top level opponents.  Unfortunately that won't be any different tonight when Ramirez faces off against journeyman Fulgencio Zuniga (27-9-1, 24 KO) in a 10 round super middleweight fight.  Ramirez is a tall southpaw who has a nice strong jab.  He is an aggressive fighter who usually looks to land the power, which he has plenty of.  Ramirez does a very nice job of working the body and he really likes to stick his left hand downstairs.  The right hook if Ramirez is very dangerous but he also throws it wildly at times.  This should be another good opportunity for Ramirez to look good especially considering his opponent Zuniga has lost all of his step up fights.  Zuniga has a big advantage in experience and has fought the likes of Hassan N'Dam, James DeGale, Thomas Oosthuizen, Tavoris Cloud, Lucian Bute, and the best of the bunch, Kelly Pavlik.  Headbutts could play a role in this fight considering Zuniga fights out of the orthodox stance.  He has good power which he flashes with his solid jab.  Defensively Zuniga is there to be hit which won't bode well against the heavy hitting Ramirez.  Zuniga also tends to get wild especially when he throws his left hook.  He does have a nice straight right hand but he loads up on it which makes it easy to see coming.  The last time Zuniga was stopped was in 2009 against Bute and this fight might play out in the same fashion.  Ramirez should be able to outclass Zuniga on his way to a 6th round knockout.
