Diaz Jr. looks to keep his perfect record intact
Joseph Diaz Jr. vs. Roberto Castaneda: It will be another busy week of boxing with fighters in action on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Things will get started this Thursday on Fox Sports 1 with a 2012 U.S. Olympian headlining the card.  That Olympian is Joseph Diaz Jr. (12-0, 8 KO) who has been tearing through every opponent put in front of him.  Granted none of his opponents have been very good but the young 21 year old southpaw looks like he could have a bright future.  Diaz Jr. will be in the ring with Roberto Castaneda (21-7-1, 15 KO) in a 10 round junior featherweight fight.  Castaneda is only 23 years old but he has been piling up losses recently and his career is going downhill fast.  Castaneda started his career 18-0-1 but has gone 3-7 in his last ten fights and was knocked out in five of those losses.  The power of Diaz Jr. combined with the weak chin of Castaneda could make this a quick night.  Diaz Jr. has a nice jab and uses it well to measure the distance for his power punches.  He typically likes to be the aggressor and does a very good job of attacking the body.  While the right hand of Diaz Jr. is solid it's his left hand that does the most damage.  He has an excellent straight left hand that he likes to counter opponents with and his crooked left can end a fight in a single punch.  Like Diaz Jr., Castaneda is also an aggressive fighter.  He fights out of an orthodox stance and he doesn't move very well in the ring and instead likes to stand and trade.  Castaneda's left hook is decent but all of his punches are pretty wild.  If Castaneda tries to stand and trade with Diaz Jr. like he usually does this fight will not end well for him.  Diaz Jr. is much more talented than Castaneda and that will be clear in this fight as Diaz Jr. gets the win by the way of 5th round stoppage.
