After a lot of rumors and back and forth trash talk a fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KO) and Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO) is official.  The two pugilists will fight on July 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and like Alvarez's last fight will air on Showtime PPV.  Both men are junior middleweights but Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said that the fight could take place at plus/minus one pound of 154.  Lara was set to fight Ishe Smith on May 2nd but pulled out of that fight once the deal with Alvarez went official.  There is no word yet on what fighters will round out the undercard but Golden Boy head honcho Oscar De La Hoya said it will be stacked.
