UniMas Quick Pick

Ramirez is quickly becoming must see TV
Gilberto Ramirez vs. Don Mouton: For sports fans who need their fix of action before tomorrow's Super Bowl be sure to check out UniMas tonight.  Gilberto Ramirez (26-0, 20 KO) a young 22 year old prospect will be taking on Don Mouton (12-7-1, 10 KO) a rugged veteran who was never been knocked out.  The two pugilists will go head to head for 10 rounds in the super middleweight division as Ramirez looks to continue his rise.  Ramirez is a fighter on the way up, he has good size and his excellent reach allows him to control fights.  Ramirez also has very good power and as a southpaw he could give other fighters a lot of trouble in the future.  He is still young and raw and his one noticeable flaw is his lack of punch output at times.  Ramirez is still a long way from the top of the super middleweight division but he is definitely a fighter to keep a close eye on.  This fight against Mouton will be a good test for him.  In recent years Mouton has been used as a stepping stone for young prospects and contenders.  In 2013 Mouton fought Brandon Gonzales, Badou Jack, and Anthony Dirrell all of whom are young talented fighters.  Mouton lost all three of those fights but he went the distance and made each fight very close.  Mouton has never been knocked out as a professional and has never even tasted the canvas.  If Ramirez was able to knock Mouton out he would be making a serious statement.  Also if Ramirez were able to win the fight by wide margins on the scorecards, something Gonzales, Jack, and Dirrell weren't able to do it wold also be highly impressive.  This is the perfect test for Ramirez at this point, he is facing a tough veteran with a good chin and enough power to test Ramirez's chin.  I'm expecting the young Ramirez to stay unbeaten and win this fight convincingly by the way of unanimous decision.
