Ivan Redkach vs. Tony Luis: Typically when a fight airs on Showtime it takes place on Saturday and features some prominent fighters.  Yet sometimes Showtime decides to give fans even more boxing with their series ShoBox The Next Generation which usually airs and Fridays and features top prospects.  So this Friday be sure to check out fast rising prospect Ivan Redkach (15-0, 13 KO) as he enters the ring for his first ever 10 round bout.  He will be facing fellow prospect Tony Luis (17-1, 7 KO) in a 10 round fight in the lightweight division.  One thing to know about Redkach is that he has lethal power, especially in his left hand.  When Redkach hurts his opponent he wildly goes in for the kill which does leave him open for return fire, however it usually doesn't matter because when he does hurt his opponent the fight doesn't last much longer.  Redkach's power along with the fact that he is a southpaw will make many top fighters avoid him and rightfully so.  However if Redkach can keep winning and drawing fans to watch him fight than the top fighters in his weight class will have no choice but to give him his shot.  Luis doesn't have that problem.  He doesn't have a tremendous amount of power but he still fights like he does.  Most boxers without heavy hands work on footwork and fighting from the outside but Luis doesn't.  Luis loves to fight from the inside where he can use his lighting fast hands to land sharp, short punches.  Those hands have earned Luis the nickname "Lightning" but it isn't just his hands that are fast.  Luis also has very good head movement, especially on the inside.  This fight should be very interesting because both Redkach and Luis fight extremely well on the inside.  While Luis has the faster hands and slightly better defense it is Redkach who has the real deal power.  I expect the action to be electric throughout the fight and Luis will be very game but Redkach's power will prove to be too much for him to overcome.  Redkach will win this fight with a 7th round knockout and will earn many new fans along with it.
