NBC Quick Pick

Glazkov should have an easier time with Wilson
Vyacheslav Glazkov vs. Garrett Wilson: Saturday afternoon on NBC was supposed to be a heavyweight title fight between Tomasz Adamek and Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov (15-0-1, 11 KO).  However that fight was cancelled today due to a stomach flu suffered by Adamek.  Adamek went to the doctor on Wednesday complaining of nausea and his team thought it was dehydration but apparently it's a little worse than that because he will not be stepping into the ring on Saturday afternoon.  So now Glazkov will be fighting last minute fill-in Garrett Wilson (13-6-1, 7 KO).  The fight will still be a 12 round affair but some of the luster has been lost from what could have been an exciting heavyweight battle.  Glazkov is a puncher who works behind a vicious jab which allows him to get inside and land power punches with bad intentions.  He doesn't move around the ring very well and doesn't have good head movement which is why he focuses on knockouts.  Glazkov has a simple defense that sees him keep his hands very high and tight as he steadily comes forward.  Glazkov is a legit 6'3'' heavyweight while his new opponent Wilson is only 5'9'' and moving up from cruiserweight for this fight.  Wilson is extremely short for the heavyweight division but he is a physical specimen who looks like he could play middle linebacker in the NFL.  Wilson moves around the ring much more fluidly than Glazkov but his defense isn't great and he has a tendency to reach and lunge with his punches, something that will be very noticeable against the much taller Glazkov.  If Wilson decides to head hunt he will get destroyed, he needs to get inside and work hard to the body early and often.  Being that Glazkov is so much bigger and more powerful and that Wilson is a last minute fill-in, this fight shouldn't be electric.  I expect Glazkov to win this fight pretty easily by the way of  7th round knockout.
