Andres Gutierrez vs. Ernie Sanchez: This Saturday will be a very busy night of boxing both on English and Spanish speaking television.  The lowest profile fight of the night will be a 12 round bout in the loaded junior featherweight division.  The fight will be headlined by 20 year old rising Mexican prospect, Andres Gutierrez (27-0-1, 22 KO) as he takes on the young Filipino fighter Ernie Sanchez (14-3, 5 KO).  This fight will be a showcase fight for Gutierrez as he continues to show that he has the talent and power to compete at a high level.  Gutierrez is a solid fighter who doesn't throw many punches but is highly effective with the punches he does throw.  One thing Gutierrez does at an extremely high level is throw power punches to the body, something smaller fighters aren't normally known for.  Gutierrez also has a good defensive technique that sees him keep his hands high and his elbows tight to his body.  However in this fight Gutierrez's defense probably won't be tested.  His opponent Sanchez isn't a great fighter and doesn't have excellent defense or punching power.  Sanchez is fast and throws punches from awkward angles but shouldn't be able to really bother Gutierrez.  I expect Gutierrez to look very sharp and end the night early by knocking out Sanchez in the 7th round.
