BREAKING NEWS

R.I.P.
It has happened before in the sport of boxing, most notably when Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini beat up Duk Koo Kim for 14 rounds and Kim died only a few days later.  Unfortunately is has happened again.  On October 19th Francisco "Frankie" Leal fought Raul Hirales and lost via 8th round TKO.  Leal looked to be in very bad shape after the fight and was immediately rushed to the hospital where he fell into a coma.  Sadly, Leal was unable to recover from his brain injuries and passed away today at the age of 26.  Leal had a career record of 20-8-3 with 13 knockouts.  Boxing is a beautiful yet brutal sport and fans should never take for granted how much fighters sacrifice.  Rest in peace Frankie Leal.
