Fox Sports 1 Quick Pick

Luis Collazo vs. Alan Sanchez: For fans who were deprived of boxing this weekend fear not, tonight on Fox Sports 1 there will be a solid 10 round fight in the welterweight division.  That fight will feature tough veteran Luis Collazo (33-5, 17 KO) taking on young prospect Alan Sanchez (12-2-1, 6 KO).  Collazo certainly isn't the top fighter he was once but will be bringing in much more ring experience into the fight.  Collazo has fought some of the best in the world during his career inlcuding Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, and Andre Berto.  His counterpart, Sanchez has not fought any notable fighters thus far and Collazo will certainly be his biggest test to date.  Another advantage for Collazo is the fact that he is a southpaw, something that Sanchez probably hasn't seen too often.  Collazo isn't a very powerful fighter but he is an accurate puncher who constantly stalks his opponent and loves to work on the inside.  What could be an advantage for Sanchez is his age.  He is only 22 years old making him a full 10 years younger than Collazo.  Because he is so much younger expect Sanchez to use his footwork to move around the ring and tire out Collazo.  Sanchez loves to stay on the outside, use his good footwork to avoid punishment, and then pick his spots to land big combinations.  If Collazo can limit the movement of Sanchez and make this a phone booth fight he will come away the victor, however if Sanchez uses his footwork to his advantage and is able to stay on the outside he can outbox Collazo on his way to a win.  This is a fight where Collazo might look very old trying to chase around the younger, more active fighter but I have a feeling his ring experience will pay off and he will be able to consistently get inside on the younger fighter.  Collazo will come away from this fight the winner by the way of 10th round stoppage.
