BREAKING NEWS

The king of the super middleweight division
It has been more than a year since Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO) has been in the ring.  He is coming off the destruction of light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson and was scheduled to fight Kelly Pavlik until he injured his shoulder and that fight was shelved.  After the injury Pavlik decided he had taken enough punishment in his long career and retired.  So Ward was left with a long road back from injury and no opponent upon his return.  Now Ward has his opponent, Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO) and a fight date.  The two men will meet on October 16th in a battle for the top spot of the super middleweight division.  Rodriguez is one of the most underrated fighters in the sport and while he has not faced the same level of opposition that Ward has, he has looked better each time he steps into the ring.  Ward is the number 2 ranked P4P fighter in the world and has the confidence of a top fighter but he hasn't fought in more than a year while Rodriguez will be back in the ring only four months after his 1st round TKO win over Denis Grachev.  This is a very dangerous fight for Ward and an amazing opportunity for Rodriguez.
Underrated and undefeated is a dangerous combination
