Major boxing news broke about 20 minutes ago. Floyd Mayweather has announced on Twitter and Facebook that he will definitely be back in the ring September 14th at the MGM in Las Vegas. His opponent for that fight will be junior middleweight title holder Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. There have been rumors for a few weeks that these to men would fight when Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN's Dan Rafael that he was working hard on making the fight happen. Mayweather choosing to fight Alvarez certainly means the persistent Mayweather "haters" will have to keep quiet for the foreseeable future. The fight will take place at a catch weight of 152 pounds.
