Friday Night Fights Quick Pick

Javier Fortuna vs. Miguel Zamudio: This Friday night in Atlantic City interim titlist Javier Fortuna (21-0, 15 KO) will take on tough Mexican fighter Miguel Zamudio (25-1-1, 13 KO).  This will be Zamudio's first time fighting outside of his native Mexico, and he picked a very dangerous opponent to do it against, a Dominican southpaw.  This fight should be very closely contested, Zamudio hasn't since 2009 when he was knocked out, and obviously Fortuna is undefeated.  Neither fighter has fought any real top level talent, so the fact that this is a title fight doesn't really mean anything.  But Fortuna has more deep round experience, he has already had a few 12 round fights, and plenty of 10 rounders.  Zamudio on the other hand hasn't had any 12 rounds fights and only a few 10 rounders, most of his fights thus far have been 8 rounds.  But Fortuna usually ends his opponents night early by first or second round knockout.  Zamudio has a questionable chin and Fortuna has legit power, but don't expect his usually early knockout because Mexican fighters don't give in that easy.  But eventually Fortuna's power will grind Zamudio down and Fortuna will get the knockout in the 8th round.
