Friday Night Fights Quick Pick

Brian Vera vs. Donatas Bondorovas:  Frequent viewers of Friday Night Fights are well aware of Brian Vera.  Fans last saw him utterly destroy former title holder Sergiy Dzinziruk en route to a 10th round TKO.  He is a hard charging, fan friendly fighter, who shouldn't be missed.  Donatas Bondorovas is not as well know by the casual boxing fan, or the hardcore boxing junkie.  That is probably because Bondorovas is more of a tough stepping stone, then a real threat.  He has a slow, plodding style, and doesn't have a strong defense, and rarely moves his head.  Those factors should make him a perfect target for the power puncher, Vera.  But don't confuseVera as a top prospect either, he is just a tough kid who is a hell of a lot of fun to watch.  His record is 22-6 with 13 knockouts, but is also susceptible to the knockout, two of his six losses have come from hitting the canvas.  Bondorovas has a record of 17-3-1 with 6 knockouts, and has been knocked out once himself.  His record isn't impressive, especially when you look at his opponents.  Vera's opponent list is much better but he usually loses all of his "step-up" fights.  Fortunately for Vera, Bondorovas isn't a step up.  It should be a very entertaining 12 round middleweight fight.  A fight that Vera easily wins by 9th round knockout.
