Friday Night Fights Quick Pick

Delvin Rodriguez vs. George Tahdooahnippah: Another Friday night and another great fight being put on by ESPN.  This time it will be FNF fan favorite Delvin Rodriguez taken on unproven George Tahdooahnippah.  Big time boxing fans and very familiar with Rodrigez, he has fought on ESPN many times and has given fans very memorable battles.  Particulary his first fight against Powel Wolak which ended in a draw and left Wolak with his right eye swollen to the size of a baseball.  That fight was named Sports Illustrated's fight of the year.  Rodriguez's record isn't overly impressive standing at 26-6-3 with 14 knockouts, but he is a skilled fighter with a ton of heart who always makes good fights.  The fighter fans might not have heard of before is Tahdooahnippah.  That is mainly due to the fact that most of his fights have taken place in his home state of Oklahoma, not known as a boxing hotbed.  His record is very good at 31-0-1 with an outstanding 23 knockouts.  But he has compiled that record against no name opposition, and Rodriguez will represent a huge step up in competition for him.  Even though Tahdooahnippah has big punching power that might not help him against the tough as nails Rodriguez.  Expect a good tough action fight, where Tahdooahnippah simply gets outclassed by the more skilled Rodriguez.  I expect Rodriguez to get the unanimous decision in a 10 round fight.
